Newborn FAQ

How old should my baby be for a newborn session?

Newborn sessions are best when baby is between 8 to 20 days old. This will help ensure those sleepy images we all love. Is this a deadline, absolutely not, but more of a guideline. Older babies can still be scheduled, but they tend to be awake for longer periods of time, so we should possibly have different expectations.

When should I schedule my Newborn session?

It is best to contact me in your second trimester. We will tentatively schedule for 2 weeks after your due date. Once the baby has arrived we can adjust as needed based on actual arrival date.

Do I need to bring anything for Newborn session?

I have a studio full of wraps, backdrops, props, outfits, headbands and hats all made especially for newborn photography. I have everything we need (and more) for the session. If you would like to bring sentimental or special items you may (please just let me know so I can be prepared) but nothing else is needed.

How long do Newborn sessions last?

A wrapped only session can take anywhere from an hour to an hour and half. An Heirloom session, (family, sibling and baby images) can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours. I am a baby led photographer, which means I always follow baby's lead. If we need more time for feeding and soothing then we will be longer.
